With a population of just over 200 people, Haddonfield is a small farming town populated by good-hearted, pleasant people. It is a small town in which most of the townspeople know each other. With the exception of a few dwarves or regular elven travelers, other races are rarely seen and, while the good-hearted people of Haddonfield will not cause harm to outsiders, they may have an initial skepticism or mistrust against the more “rare” races.
1. Church of Haddonfield
The large, gothic building is dark and smells of must and old books. By the small amount of moonlight filtering in through the high windows on each wall, you can see that you are looking up a small aisle with pews on both sides of it. On each side of the entryway stand large statues of various deities and heroes. While majestic in the daylight, these statues appear ominous and cast long shadows across the floor.
Father Damien Karras leads the congregation in this small church. A tall, skinny man dressed in simple black and white robes with a large holy symbol adorned to them; Father Karras has a quiet, and shy demeanor.
2. The Slaughtered Lamb
As you enter The Slaughtered Lamb, your lungs fill with the smells of cinnamon and roast meats, with a vague undertone of stale ale. The small tavern is cast in an orange glow from the fire burning in a hearth at the far right wall. To your left, the barmaid, a petite half-elf woman with auburn hair and bright green eyes named Nancy, fills two mugs with a heavily spiced ale and passes them down the bar to two waiting patrons. The rest of the room is filled with wooden tables and various mismatched wooden chairs.
Situated in a dark corner sits the bouncer of this establishment; an ugly brute named Freddy with shadows over his face. By the grey tones of his skin and his imposing stature, you can guess that he’s of Orcish descent. He wears a tattered striped tunic and a belt of knives.
Acting as the liaison for this small farming town, Mayor Sam Loomis, a short, stocky man who is beginning to lose his hair and whose eyes seem a little too close together, tends to greet newcomers here. He wears a bright red dress cloak over a wrinkled brown vest and slacks. His disposition is rather jolly and he can usually be seen with a smile on his face as he greets the people of his town.
3. Haddonfield Prison
A small, simple stone building that holds 5 cells that sit empty the majority of the time. The most occupied space in this building tends to be the larger holding cell which is often used to contain drunks when they get out of hand- especially the local drunk; a man named MacReady.
4. The Iron Nail
A very simple blacksmith stall in which an old human man wearing an eye patch is equally happy to assist customers with casting simple horseshoes as he is with helping hammer out silvered weapons to combat supernatural threats.
