Obituaries

Gone, but not forgotten- here you can find a history of the many souls that have been laid to rest in the City of Clearcrest.

Amon Prall

Description: The now-deceased former owner of the Council of Progress–a seraphinium processing foundry and metalworking facility. A simply-dressed and well-spoken dwarf, Amon wore a standard worker’s jumpsuit but in a rich purple color while rousing his employees with inspiring speeches about the company’s direction and purpose. However, it was later discovered that he maintained an utter disdain for the factory’s recruits, willing to sacrifice them like replaceable cogs in the pursuit of money and power. A crack team of Sentry members/worker’s rights advocates confronted Prall during an investor presentation, resulting in the dwarf’s (some might say) quite timely demise.

Darfin Vara

Description: This human cannibal was thought to have been burned at the stake for his crimes against humanity, however his remains were most recently found eviscerated outside of a mausoleum in a graveyard near Mortis castle. There were obvious signs of a struggle and scorch marks throughout the graveyard. Given the amount of gore and arcane symbols found at the scene, it is believed that his (second) death was ritualistic in nature.

Dormund Stonecutter

Description: Previously thought to have been put to death for his murderous crimes, this genasi is rumored to have been seen around the city of Tirith, leading factions of the Mortis army. Was killed by Cassius’ Cleaners during the siege of Kharst.

Francesca the Carpet

Found deep within Tha Dalashtar in The Western Expanse, this mimic made for a beautiful rug and lived its last moments being admired by Cassius Delacuir. Francesca’s full obituary can be read here.

Krikor Coilerbark

Krikor was an incredibly thin man who appeared to weigh less than the necklaces and knick-knacks he had a penchant for wearing. He ran a shop that dealt in magical materials in the settlement of Quest before the Battle of the Braided Armies. He is survived by a long great nephew, Gregory Serpentwood.

Malachi Carxik

Description: Behind the bar at The Dirty Sparrow in Fool’s March stands a man with a long tail and dark blue complexion. His red eyes and pointed ears give away his tiefling ancestry. He stands tall and lean behind the bar with a thoroughly-chewed toothpick jutting out between sharp teeth. He wears a dirty dress shirt with a crooked maroon tie and rolled up sleeves. He oozes self-confidence and is always quick with a joke in his lilting, big city accent. By marriage, he’s cousins with Firewater Frank out of Erast and he uses this contact to have pineapple shipped in. Malachi met his unfortunate end during the fall of Clearcrest.

Nesbar Theegnome

While known amongst his friends for being a bit of a troublemaker, this small gnome had a big heart and was a beloved member of the Cassius’ Cleaners. A wizard by trade, Nesbar also studied the art of thievery with his compatriot Pimric Thorngage. Nesbar gave his life valiantly while defending the people of Skyleaf during the Nostari Merende festival. Now, standing in the center of Ancestor’s Refuge, is a fountain dedicated to Nesbar’s memory and the one thing he truly loved above all else: Choccy Milk.

Sabre Thornton, Chancellor of Fool’s March
Sabre Thornton
Race: Human
Chr: +4

Description: A thin, clean-shaven man in a long black jacket with a thin smile and slicked back hair. His handsome features and strong jawline make him stand out in a crowd. He walks with a long cane that has ornate details, implying a sense of wealth and upperclass. To go with his station as Fool’s March chancellor, he is extremely charismatic and oozes charm.

Sabre was poisoned by a blackmailer known simply as “X” and Cassius’ Cleaners were framed for his murder.

Splart the Goblin

Description: Splart was known for his daring feats and his knack for dumb luck. Finding work as a dart for the goliath Crag the Devourer, it was assumed that Splart had found his expected end when he asked the giant for a promotion, was flattened with a hammer, and thrown over the side of an airship. However, the roasted remains of this goblin were recently found in a graveyard outside of Mortis Castle. Given the amount of gore and arcane symbols found at the scene, it is believed that his (second) death was ritualistic in nature.

He has a similar accent to Pimric, though it is touched with a more commanding resonance. His clothing, while simple, seem well-made and well-cared for, as do his weapons. Tad met his unfortunate end during the fall of Clearcrest.

Taklinn Emberfell
Taklinn Emberfell
Race:Hill Dwarf

Description: Standing just shy of four and a half feet tall with a slight slouch, this Dwarven master inventor is the father of such devices as Fettering Foam, Far-Seeing Field Glasses, the Mining Exo-Skeleton, Pimm’s Cup, the Stay-Safe Pouch, and the eponymous Emberfell Elevator. Born in a small farmining village to the north of Dolgan’s Pass known as Din Toduhr, Taklinn followed his natural curiousity into the mountains and down through the ancient Dwarven mining city of Kraz’Drak. He built siege engines that assisted in the victory of The Battle of the Braided Armies, befriended Qu’lar Quest champion Yvain Pureheart, and helped form the beginnings of the city of Clearcrest.

Taklinn met his unfortunate end during the fall of Clearcrest. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Torbrinn Twentystone

Torbrinn was a huge copper dragonborn with strange designs swirling around his arms who could be found with an enormous off-white greataxe known as “The Shoulder Blade” balanced over one shoulder. He was close friends with Captain Yvain Pureheart, but was decidedly NOT a member of the Watch in Quest.

Yvaine Pureheart

A dusty brown-haired human who carried himself as a capable combatant and passable diplomat. Was the Watch Captain of Quest, the precursor settlement that would become Golden Cape after the Battle of the Braided Armies. He was close friends with Torbrinn Twentystone.

Zaria Vanan

Description: Magus Zaria Vanan was a top magical researcher and student of Izzik the Lost, creating the Arcane Research, Experimentation, and Development (ARED) Laboratory over four hundred years ago with an Arcane Key called the Guiding Light (now known as the Radiant Prayer). After a containment breach within the lab resulted in fungus-spliced kobolds (fungolds) ransacking the facility, Vanan died within the lab’s vault, her spirit fusing with the Glimmerstar Fascinator she desperately used to call for help.
