Take your stereotypes of bugbears and bugbear culture and turn them upside down. Coming from the wilds of Bastion Forest with ancestry going back to Chainlock Keep, Hrathgag made a name for himself as a young, pointey-eared fiend peddling newspapers on street corners. Eventually he made his way into the pressing plants and worked his way up the management chain.
These days he can be found bossing around goblins and keeping the banshees in the copy room from shrieking too much. As editor-in-chief, he gets the ultimate approval for what goes into your beloved paper each day. With Hrathgag at the helm, the Chronicle has thrived and become the number one news source in Clearcrest. He is the captain to this fine piece of journalism…

Quiet and semi-transparent, Simone lived her life to track down and report the news. She loved it so much, she has chosen to live her death doing the same.
Previously employed at the Ghostly Gazette, Simone came to Clearcrest in search of a new story. With extensive experience tracking down the truth, both pre- and post-mortem, (not to mention the ability to float through walls and move about undetected,) Simone is our correspondent on the street. She specializes in coverage of local communities and up-and-coming adventurers.

Neamathili Hirall Zasarath Mankiller VII
Clearcrest Historian
Full name: Neamathili Hirall Zasarath Mankiller VII, Son of Zevum Trukodurk, Chieftain of the Komatur Tribe of the Black Foothills. AKA “Neam”.
No one quite knows how long Neam was wondering around the Archives in City Center before Hrathgag found him and gave him the historical column that you know and love. When asked his story, he started into a long-winded version of events dating back some 3 millennia. We cut him short and just gave him the job.
Having ventured into Clearcrest as a boy, Neam originally hails from the Black Foothills located far to the west.
If you ever have a question about how things came to be, where we come from, or how long someone could possibly talk about the origins of the quill in boringly dry detail, Neam is your man.
